Agency Agents is a free, open-source library of 282 ready-made AI agents for Claude Code and 16 other AI coding tools. Each agent is a Markdown file that turns Claude into a specialist, from Backend Architect to Deal Strategist. Nine of them are built for sales. You install only the teams you need with one command or a free desktop app.
On October 9, 2026, I posted on LinkedIn that there are 282 AI employees for Claude Code, and they are free. I listed the 9 built for a sales team. I run a GTM agency on Claude Code agents, so I read all 9 sales files line by line. This is what they are, how to install them, and the one catch the top guides skip.
- Agency Agents lives on GitHub at msitarzewski/agency-agents, under the MIT license. On October 9, 2026 it had 158,447 stars.
- The 282 agents sit in 18 teams. Engineering has 65, specialized roles 59, marketing 37, sales 9.
- Each agent is a role, a set of rules and templates. It adds no data and no CRM access, and with no tools line it inherits every tool Claude Code gives subagents.
- Install only the teams you use. All 282 descriptions together come to about 15,500 tokens, above the 15,000-token warning line in Claude Code.

What Is Agency Agents?
Agency Agents is a GitHub repository by Michael Sitarzewski that packages AI specialists as files you drop into your tools. The README says it was born from a Reddit thread. Each file gives Claude a name, a mission, rules it must follow and the documents it should produce, such as a deal scorecard or a proof-of-concept plan.
In Claude Code these files become subagents. Anthropic's docs describe a subagent as a helper with its own context window, its own system prompt and its own tool access. Claude reads each agent's description and decides when to hand it a task. You can also call one yourself: type @ and pick it from the list, or write "use the Deal Strategist subagent" in your request.
The repo started on October 13, 2025 and was still updated on October 7, 2026. It has 25,571 forks. That popularity is the reason to look at it, and also the reason to check what you install before you trust it.
What Is Inside an Agency Agents File?
Each file is plain Markdown with a short header: name, description, color, emoji and a one-line vibe. Five of the nine sales files follow the repo's standard template: identity, core mission, critical rules, deliverables with copyable templates, workflow and success metrics. The other four, including the Outbound Strategist, read as free-form playbooks.
Targets such as reply rates sit in the metrics sections, so read those first. That is where generic numbers can slip into your own plans.
If you are new to agents, my guide on how to build an AI agent with Claude explains the six parts every agent needs.
How Many Agents Are in Agency Agents?
There are 282 agents in 18 teams, counted with the repo's own installer on October 9, 2026. A separate strategy folder holds coordination playbooks, which is why some guides say 298. Older guides say 112: YUV.AI counted that in March 2026. The library keeps growing.
| Team | Agents | Team | Agents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Engineering | 65 | Testing | 9 |
| Specialized | 59 | Paid media | 7 |
| Marketing | 37 | Project management | 7 |
| Game development | 21 | Academic | 6 |
| GIS | 13 | Product | 6 |
| Security | 12 | Spatial computing | 6 |
| Design | 10 | Support | 6 |
| Sales | 9 | Finance | 5 |
| Healthcare | 3 | Research | 1 |
The installer supports Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Aider, OpenCode and nine more tools. For Claude Code it copies the files into ~/.claude/agents, so they work in every project.
Which Agency Agents Are Built for Sales?
The sales team has 9 agents that cover the full cycle, from the offer to the renewal. Each file runs about 1,650 to 3,300 words. Most of them package named sales methods. The last column is my verdict after reading each file, as someone who runs outbound for clients.
| Agent | What it does | Method inside | My verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| Offer & Lead Gen Strategist | Designs the offer and lead magnets | Value equation, Core Four, Rule of 100 | Useful for a first offer draft |
| Outbound Strategist | Picks who to contact, when and with what message | Signal tiers, account tiers, sequences | The best of the nine for B2B outbound |
| Discovery Coach | Writes the questions for the first call | SPIN, Gap Selling, Sandler | Strong call prep |
| Sales Engineer | Builds the demo and the proof of concept | POC template, FIA battlecards | For technical products only |
| Deal Strategist | Scores deals and flags risk | MEDDPICC scored out of 40, Challenger | Strong on deal reviews |
| Proposal Strategist | Turns a request into a proposal | Win themes, executive summary | Good structure, needs your proof |
| Pipeline Analyst | Reads pipeline data and spots a bad quarter | Velocity, coverage, deal health | Only as good as your CRM export |
| Sales Coach | Reviews reps' calls and deals | Coaching plans, pipeline reviews | For teams with reps to coach |
| Account Strategist | Grows signed clients | Stakeholder maps, QBRs, expansion plans | Useful after the first deals close |
How Do You Install Agency Agents in Claude Code?
The fastest way is the free desktop app at agencyagents.app, which installs agents with a click and tracks updates. It is MIT licensed, with no account and no telemetry. If you prefer the terminal, these five steps install only the sales team.
- Clone the repo: git clone https://github.com/msitarzewski/agency-agents.git, then open the folder.
- See what exists: ./scripts/install.sh --list teams prints every team with its agent count.
- Install one team: ./scripts/install.sh --tool claude-code --division sales copies the 9 files to ~/.claude/agents.
- For one project only, add --path .claude/agents. Project agents override personal ones with the same name.
- Call an agent: type @, pick Outbound Strategist from the list, then add your target account and what you know about it.
I ran step 3 with --path pointing to a test folder on October 9, 2026. It copied exactly nine files, one per sales agent. Add --dry-run first if you want to see the list before anything is written. Add --link to symlink the files instead of copying them, so repo updates reach your agents.
Should You Install All 282 Agency Agents?
No. Install the teams you will use this month. Claude Code keeps every agent's description in context so it can decide when to delegate. Anthropic's docs say that when custom agent descriptions pass 15,000 tokens, Claude Code shows a warning at startup.
I measured the descriptions of all 282 files: about 62,000 characters, roughly 15,500 tokens at the usual four characters per token. That is an estimate, and it sits just above the warning line. The 9 sales agents add about 530 tokens. That is a rounding error.
There is a second cost when an agent runs. Its full file loads into its own context window, about 3,800 tokens for an average sales agent. That is cheap per call. On a Max plan it still counts toward your usage limits, so idle agents firing on the wrong tasks waste budget.
If you hit limits often, my guide to Claude Max usage limits shows how the five-hour and weekly caps work.
Are the Agency Agents Sales Agents Any Good?
They are good playbooks and weak operators. Every file encodes methods a sales leader would recognize, written as clear rules and templates. None of them knows your market, your numbers or your buyers. The output is as good as the context you give it.
Three things I would fix before using them on real deals.
- Benchmarks without sources. The Outbound Strategist sets a 12 to 25% reply-rate target for signal-based outreach and cites nothing. Replace every target with your own numbers.
- No data of its own. The Pipeline Analyst sees your CRM only if you connect it through an MCP server. Otherwise export the pipeline to a file and give it the path, or the forecast is invented.
- Full tool access. The sales files list no tools, so Claude Code gives them every tool available to subagents. Add a tools line, such as Read, Grep, Glob, if an agent should only read.
None of this is a reason to skip them. A free MEDDPICC reviewer asks who the economic buyer is on every single deal, a question most pipeline reviews skip.
Agency Agents vs Superpowers: Which Do You Need?
They solve different problems. Agency Agents gives Claude roles: who it should be for a task. Superpowers, Jesse Vincent's skills framework with nearly 297,000 GitHub stars, gives Claude working methods for software development, such as planning, test-driven development and debugging. If you write code and sell, you can install both.
For a sales team, I would install Agency Agents and skip Superpowers. Superpowers is built around shipping code.
How Would I Use the Sales Agents in a Real Outbound Week?
Start with two agents and one real account list. Here is the order I would test them in, using our own outbound process as the frame.
- Monday: give the Outbound Strategist your ideal customer profile and 20 target accounts. Ask for signal tiers and a three-touch sequence.
- Tuesday: check every claim it makes against the account's site and LinkedIn. Delete what you cannot verify.
- Wednesday: before each first call, ask the Discovery Coach for five questions on that account.
- Friday: export open deals and ask the Deal Strategist for a MEDDPICC score on each one. Act on the lowest score first.
Keep a human approval on anything a prospect will read. That rule runs every agent at Growth Cab, and the reason is simple: a wrong fact in a cold email costs you the account.
To see how we run 9 Claude Code agents across content, outreach and recaps, read my breakdown of Claude Code for marketing.
And if you would rather have a team run signal-based outbound for you, with agents on the research and people on every message, that is what our B2B lead generation service does.
Frequently asked questions
What is Agency Agents?
Agency Agents is a free, MIT-licensed GitHub library by Michael Sitarzewski with 282 AI agent personas in 18 teams, including engineering, marketing, sales and security. Each agent is a Markdown file with a role, rules and templates. It installs into Claude Code as subagents, and into Cursor, Copilot, Codex, Gemini CLI and more.
Is Agency Agents free?
Yes. The agents and the desktop installer at agencyagents.app are both MIT licensed and cost nothing. You still pay for the AI tool that runs them, such as a Claude Pro or Max plan or API tokens. Running an agent uses your normal usage limits, like any other Claude Code task.
How do I install Agency Agents in Claude Code?
Clone github.com/msitarzewski/agency-agents and run ./scripts/install.sh --tool claude-code, adding --division sales or another team to install only that group. The files land in ~/.claude/agents. The desktop app does the same with a click. Then type @ in Claude Code and pick the agent from the list.
How many agents are in Agency Agents?
As of October 9, 2026, the installer lists 282 agents in 18 teams: 65 in engineering, 59 specialized, 37 in marketing, 21 in game development and 9 in sales, among others. A strategy folder adds coordination playbooks, which is why some guides count 298 files.
What is the difference between Agency Agents and Superpowers?
Agency Agents gives Claude specialist roles, like Deal Strategist or Backend Architect. Superpowers is a skills framework that gives Claude software development methods, such as planning, test-driven development and debugging. Sales and marketing teams get more from Agency Agents. The two can run side by side in the same Claude Code setup.
