Smartlead Pricing 2026: Plans, Add-ons and Real Cost

Smartlead costs $39 a month for Base, $94 for Pro, $174 for Unlimited Smart and $379 for Unlimited Prime. Annual billing saves 17%. Every plan includes unlimited email accounts and a 14-day free trial with no credit card. Your real bill also includes mailboxes, domains and any add-ons you switch on.

Disclosure first: Smartlead is a paying partner of Growth Cab and sponsored the LinkedIn post this page grows from. On September 24, 2026 I posted about their billboard in Soho, the one that puts founders where Fendi and Gucci put models. That post reached 62,055 impressions and 413 reactions. Every price below comes from Smartlead's own pages, read on October 16, 2026.

Smartlead Pricing in 2026: What Does Each Plan Cost?

Smartlead has four self-serve plans. The price depends on how many emails you send and how many contacts you store. It never depends on seats or on how many mailboxes you connect. The table uses Smartlead's pricing page and its pricing fact sheet, both read on October 16, 2026.

Smartlead plans in USD, from smartlead.ai/pricing (read October 16, 2026) and the pricing fact sheet smartlead.ai/pricing.md (dated July 28, 2026, matches the live page)

Smartlead pricing page, October 16, 2026

The pricing page shows the annual prices as $32, $78, $144 and $315. The fact sheet gives the exact figures. On October 16, 2026 the page also offered new signups 50% off the first month on any plan.

The four plans are stops on a slider. Above 150,000 emails a month the price keeps climbing. 240,000 emails cost $228, 330,000 cost $282 and 420,000 cost $336. The top tier is 5.1 million emails for $2,943 a month. Smartlead also sells SmartServices, a done-for-you outbound service with Growth and Scale plans at 50,000 and 100,000 emails a month, priced on a strategy call.

Two counters decide your plan. Contacts are the unique people stored in your account. Email sends are every message that leaves, follow-ups and bounces included. Sends reset on your billing date every month. Contacts never reset, so a full account means deleting old leads or upgrading.

A three-step sequence to 2,000 new people uses all of Base in month one. Next month there is no room for new people until you delete the old ones. So the contact limit is what pushes you from Base to Pro.

What Do You Get on Each Smartlead Plan?

The jump that matters is Base to Pro. Pro is the first plan with CRM access, the API and webhooks, and the option to buy client workspaces. Unlimited Smart adds calls with a customer success manager and a better warmup pool. Prime is the only plan with a dedicated manager and a private Slack channel.

My read: Base is a test plan. Without the API and webhooks, replies cannot flow into your own systems and campaigns cannot start from your own scripts. That is where outbound gets its leverage. If you will run outbound for longer than a month, start on Pro.

If you are still deciding whether to run cold email yourself, my guide to hiring a cold email agency compares the cost of both paths.

What Do Smartlead Add-ons Cost?

Add-ons stack on any plan. Most teams need two of them: mailboxes and list verification. I skip SmartDelivery until a campaign stops booking meetings. Verification I never skip. The rest is for agencies and teams that send at high volume.

Smartlead add-ons, from smartlead.ai/pricing and smartlead.ai/pricing.md, read October 16, 2026
Add-onPriceWhat it is for
SmartSenders mailboxes$3.99 to $9 per mailbox a month, plus $13 to $19 per domain a yearGoogle, Outlook or SMTP mailboxes bought and set up inside Smartlead. Pre-warmed ones cost $9.
Verified prospect emails$59 a month on Base and Pro, included on Smart and PrimeLeads found with SmartProspect, Smartlead's lead finder
Email verificationFrom $16.50 one time or $15 a month for 6,000 creditsChecking your own list before you send
SmartDelivery$49, $174 or $599 a monthInbox placement tests
SmartServers$39 per server a monthA dedicated IP and private sending setup
Whitelabel workspace$29 per client a monthAgencies that run Smartlead for clients under their own brand
SmartDialerFrom $9 a month in creditsAI calling inside Smartlead

Pre-warmed mailboxes cost twice as much as fresh ones, $9 against $4.50 for Google. You pay for time. A fresh mailbox needs weeks of warmup before it sends at full volume, while a pre-warmed one can send from day one.

How Much Does Smartlead Really Cost per Month?

The plan is the small line. At volume, the mailboxes cost more than Smartlead itself. I priced three setups with Smartlead's own numbers. Fresh Google mailboxes cost $4.50 a month. Domains cost $13 a year, with two mailboxes on each. Each mailbox sends 50 emails a day, the cap Clay recommends, on 22 days a month.

Monthly cost of three Smartlead setups, my calculation with Smartlead prices read October 16, 2026 (illustrations for planning)
SetupPlanMailboxes and domainsTotal per month
Founder testing outbound, 6,000 emails a monthBase, $396 mailboxes ($27) and 3 domains ($3.25)About $69
Sales team, 30,000 emails a monthPro, $9428 mailboxes ($126) and 14 domains ($15.17)About $235
Scaling team, 150,000 emails a monthUnlimited Smart, $174137 mailboxes ($616.50) and 69 domains ($74.75)About $865

Infrastructure grows faster than the plan. Mailboxes and domains are about 44% of the founder bill, 60% for the sales team and 80% for the scaling team. The contact cap bites first. With a three-step sequence, the sales team adds 10,000 new people a month and fills Pro's 30,000 in month three.

Treat these numbers as a floor. Clay adds 20% spare inboxes on top, which turns 6 mailboxes into 7 and 137 into about 164. Fresh mailboxes also spend about three weeks warming up, so the first month costs more per meeting. Running several clients adds $29 per client workspace.

For safe daily volume per mailbox and warmup rules, read my guide to cold email deliverability.

Is Smartlead Free? Trial, Discount and Refunds

Smartlead has no free plan. It has a 14-day free trial with no credit card, capped at 2,500 email sends and 1,250 stored contacts. Every feature except white labeling is on, and you can connect unlimited mailboxes. Warmup emails do not count against the 2,500. On October 16, 2026 new signups also got 50% off the first month.

Refunds are narrow. New subscriptions get a full refund within 7 days of payment. Renewals get 3 days, only if you did not use the product. Add-ons are never refunded: mailboxes, servers, SmartDelivery, SmartProspect, verification and SmartDialer. Domains are a fixed one-year payment, and mailboxes bill by the full month.

So run one real campaign inside the trial and count both numbers. Billing is monthly or annual, with no lock-in contract, and you can cancel any time. Buy mailboxes only after the trial tells you which plan you need.

Which Smartlead Plan Should You Choose?

Pick the plan by monthly sends, stored contacts and the integrations you need. Watch contacts as closely as sends, because contacts never reset. This is the order I would follow.

  1. Count your sends and your new people. Prospects per month times steps in the sequence gives your monthly emails.
  2. Under 6,000 emails a month and no integrations: Base.
  3. You need the API, webhooks or your CRM connected: Pro.
  4. You store more than 30,000 contacts or want leads included: Unlimited Smart. Its 50,000 verified prospect emails replace the $59 add-on.
  5. You run outbound for several clients: Unlimited Prime, with three workspaces, three dedicated servers and a dedicated manager.

Pay monthly for the first two months. Volume estimates are almost always wrong at the start, and annual billing saves only 17%. Once your sending is stable, switch to annual and keep the difference.

Why Is Smartlead on a Billboard in Soho?

Because it sells to founders, and it put founders on the wall. The campaign shows entrepreneurs where luxury brands show models, with the line Not That Kind of Model. No product and no price. International Business Times covered it on October 15, 2026.

Pranav Harish, Smartlead's head of growth and marketing, told the paper: "We wanted to ask whether there are other kinds of people who deserve to be put on a billboard too." I went to Spring Street and stood under it. I started Growth Cab at 25 with no famous name, so the line landed.

My read on the business side: nobody buys a billboard on Spring Street to sell a $39 plan. A brand ad like this speaks to the agencies and sales teams who grow into Unlimited Smart and Prime and stay for years. The pricing tells the same story. The plans get generous exactly where agencies live.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Smartlead cost per month?

Smartlead costs $39 a month for Base, $94 for Pro, $174 for Unlimited Smart and $379 for Unlimited Prime on monthly billing. Annual billing saves 17%, which brings the plans to $32.50, $78.30, $144.50 and $314.60 a month. Mailboxes, domains and list verification are billed separately as add-ons.

Does Smartlead charge per email account?

No. Every Smartlead plan includes unlimited email accounts, and there is no charge per seat. You still pay for the mailboxes themselves: your own Google or Outlook accounts, or SmartSenders mailboxes from $3.99 to $9 a month each. Smartlead rotates sending across every connected mailbox in a campaign.

Do Smartlead contacts reset every month?

No. Email sends reset on your billing date every month. Stored contacts never reset, so on Base and Pro you delete old leads or upgrade when the account is full. Unlimited Smart and Unlimited Prime have no contact cap, which is one reason growing teams move up to them.

Does Smartlead have a free plan?

No. Smartlead offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card, capped at 2,500 email sends and 1,250 contacts, but no permanent free plan. White labeling is the only feature off during the trial. After it, the cheapest option is Base at $39 a month, or $32.50 a month on annual billing.

Which Smartlead plan includes the API?

Pro and above. Base has no API, webhooks or CRM access. Pro at $94 a month adds all three, plus the option to buy client workspaces at $29 a month each. Unlimited Prime is the only plan with a dedicated manager and a private Slack channel.

How much does Smartlead whitelabel cost?

Whitelabel costs $29 a month per client workspace and is available from the Pro plan upward. Unlimited Prime includes three client workspaces. An agency shows Smartlead under its own brand and keeps each client in a separate workspace. That is why agencies start on Pro or Prime.
